kerrang! review
YOU CAN blame tool for the resurgence of prog rock. The success and plaudits bestowed upon the californian enigma-machines are indirectly the reasons why a teenage three peice from essex, who should by rights be young enough to be blissfully unaware of the very existence of roger waters, are right now naming pink floyd as a major musical influence alongside iron maiden, and naturally, tool.
There are undoubtedly prog elements to InMe's sound, but they're not of the truly heinious bowel gazing variety that were deservedly wiped out of punk the first time round.Rather, they take the sense of invention and disregard for the word can't and apply them to the base of muscular riffs, raw emotion and brash modern rock noise. The result is as immediately striking as it is hard to pin down."it's rock with a psychedlic streak" says voclalist/guitarist DAVE McPHERSON, struggling for a handle on his own band's sound. "It's colours, load of suprises in there.I think we have our own niche;we're standing alone in are own little way."
completed by bassist joe morgan and drummer simon taylor, inme formed whil all 3 members were at school, but it wasn't until earlier this year that things really started to come together. The first time kerrang! encountered the band live they had the startled demeanour of a rabbit caught in the headlights, but with a couple of successfull tours under their belt and a debut album imminent Dave reckons they now have the confidence they need to complete the picture and should fame and fourtune come knocking there ready to answer the call.
"There were a lot of endorphins going wild when we first saw our video on tv," Dave says."It felt weird, but if somehow felt right.I'm not interestered in my poster being on bedroom walls, but i can see it happening the way things are going, and if that means more people are listening to our music and we can play some crazy gigs.thats alright with me."

Underdose gets only 2k's
Inme's histrionic yet rather messy take on nu-metal is designed to appeal to those who feel that adema fronted bt brian molko would provide the ultimate musical thrill.Singer DAVE McPHERSON even attempts some matt bellamy style warbling on B-side gelosa (nu-matal comedy spelling ahoy!).Inme have already been lazily touted as the "brittish silverchair"-seemingly just because all three members are still to reach the age of 20.of more interest, though,is the fact colin richardson produced "underdose.Once responsible for delivering master pieces by carcass, fear factory and machine head he's now lending his skills to the latest nu-metal kids on the block.how depressing.(this was the review of inme latest single "underdose" i would just like to metion to kerrang that underdose got to number 1 on the k tv chart.)
